How AY Rank Ships Blog Posts Built to Get Cited by ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews

A blog post is not a wall of words. It is a structured citation source for AI engines. Our pipeline produces posts engineered to be the answer ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews quote when your prospect asks a buying question.

The problem

Most agency content workflows still optimize for Google blue links. That world is shrinking. The growing share of buyer journeys now starts in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and AI Overviews, and those engines pull from a small set of structured, well-cited sources per query. If your post is not formatted, schema'd, and entity-anchored to be extractable, it does not exist for AI search. We rebuilt the blog pipeline around that constraint.

The workflow.

7 steps · runs at 2 to 4 posts per week

  1. 01

    Keyword + prompt selection

We pick from the keyword research backlog using the citation readiness score. Top priority: queries where the citation slot has high entropy (contested), commercial intent, and the brand isn't currently cited. These are the cheapest wins in AI search.

  2. 02

    Competitor scrape via Browserbase

For each target query, we use Browserbase to capture the actual ChatGPT, Perplexity, and AI Overview answers + every cited source. Then we scrape the cited sources themselves to understand exactly what structure and depth gets pulled. The output is a citable-format brief, not a generic SEO outline.

  3. 03

    Answer-first outline

Every post opens with a direct answer to the target query in the first 60 words. Then context, then proof, then FAQ. This is the format AI engines extract from most reliably. We do not bury the lede with personal anecdotes or 800-word warm-ups.

  4. 04

Multi-agent draft via Claude Agents SDK

A research agent gathers and verifies every factual claim against external sources via Brave Search. A writing agent drafts to the brief. A voice agent matches the brand tone using the de-AI-ify rubric (no em dashes, no "leverage", no hedging, no "in the realm of"). A citation agent inserts external citations to high-authority sources. The loop runs until all four agents pass.

  5. 05

    Schema + entity markup

Every published post gets Article JSON-LD with author entity, FAQPage JSON-LD for the FAQ section, and inline entity markup linking to the relevant Wikidata / Crunchbase / LinkedIn entities. This is what AI engines parse when deciding whether to cite you.

  6. 06

    AI citation pre-test

Before publish, we run the target query against ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews to record the current citation state. After publish + indexing, we re-run at 7 / 14 / 30 days to measure citation propagation. Posts that fail to propagate by day 30 get rewrite priority.

  7. 07

    Distribution + internal linking

New posts get internal links from 3 to 5 existing top-traffic pages within the first day. Social cards auto-generate. LinkedIn + newsletter distribution scheduled. If applicable, Reddit + Hacker News seeding via the brand mention workflow.

Common questions.

What is the Claude Agents SDK and why use it for content?+

Claude Agents SDK is Anthropic's framework for building multi-agent loops where specialised agents (research, writing, voice, citation) collaborate on a single task. For content, this beats a single-prompt approach because each agent can be fine-tuned for its narrow job - the research agent verifies facts against external sources, the voice agent enforces brand tone, the citation agent inserts authoritative references. The output reads more human and is more factually anchored than any single-model pipeline.

How is this different from any other AI content tool?+

Tools like Jasper or Copy.ai are single-pass generators - they output a draft, you ship it. Our pipeline is a multi-agent loop where every draft is reviewed by a fact-check agent (against real-time Brave Search), a voice agent (against the brand's de-AI-ify rubric), and a citation agent (which inserts external authority links). The result is content that passes both AI detection and human editor review, with built-in citation anchoring that makes AI engines more likely to quote it.

Why do you scrape competitor AI engine answers before writing?+

Because we need to know exactly what format and depth ChatGPT and Perplexity are currently pulling from for the target query. If the cited sources all have 1,800-word answer-first posts with FAQPage schema, our brief targets that. If they're pulling 500-word listicles, that's the format. We don't guess what AI engines like - we read it directly off the live answer.

How fast does a post get cited by AI after publish?+

ChatGPT and Perplexity can cite a newly-published post within 3 to 14 days if it's on a domain they already crawl regularly. Google AI Overviews follows classic indexing latency: typically 2 to 6 weeks. Our 7 / 14 / 30 day propagation re-test catches the misses early so we can adjust schema, internal linking, or the post structure before too much time passes.

Can the pipeline produce content in multiple languages?+

Yes. The voice agent supports per-locale rubrics (FR / DE / AR / ES / PT / JA), and the localisation pipeline handles hreflang + canonical URLs. We don't machine-translate the English draft - each language gets its own generation pass against a locale-specific brief, so the FR version reads as native French content, not as a translation.
